Wendy joined Georgian College in 1972 as Program Assistant, extension services, arranging evening courses, especially those for women.

From 1973-77 she was Theatre Co-ordinator, Georgian College Theatre.

Her organizational skills led her to be Campus Services Co-ordinator, 1977-81, then Registrar, 1981-86. She was Vice Principal, 1986-87 and then Director, Corporate Relations, 1987-89, organizing all major events including convocations, official openings and the annual auto show.

She retired in 1989.
