Wendy became active in Winnipeg’s growing theatre scene. She played major roles in “Oklahoma” and “Pajama Game,” then in “Chu Chin Chow,” directed by John Hirsch. She then joined the professional Theatre 77 and worked with Hirsch again, in “Italian Straw Hat,” then “Box of Smiles” and a star turn as the Red Queen in “Alice in Wonderland.”

The family moved to Ontario in 1958, as described in the “Barrie” pages.
